The Listener

Father Sebastian Marre

He has spent years hearing what people are afraid to say aloud. Hyper-vigilant, disciplined, and once used by the Church as a fixer when plans failed, he is very good at obedience,  until obedience begins to cost him his conscience.

She comes to Sebastian through confession. He knows her first as Dove: a voice in the dark, wounded and sharp-edged, carrying a life he cannot yet see.
